The Pig and Abbot

We take pride in being an integral part of the village, and our commitment to the community extends beyond our doors. Sustainability, responsible sourcing, and giving back are pillars of our philosophy. We believe that a great hospitality should not only satisfy your taste buds but also contribute positively to the local community.

This family-friendly pub and restaurant is firmly based on the belief that a warm welcome, friendly atmosphere, and great food and drink make for the perfect pub.

A Queen Anne period public house, set in the magnificent surroundings of the Cambridgeshire countryside with easy access from Royston, Cambridge and the A1. The bar offers a selection of real ales, beer, wine, soft drinks and a warm pleasant atmosphere with roaring log fires and cosy surroundings. The Pig and Abbot is ideal for everything from a relaxing drink to a family meal.

Muddy boots and waggy tails are always welcome. We've got treats and drinking bowls available for our furry friends.

Private Events

Although we are open six days a week we are still available to cater for private events. So if you are thinking of a birthday party, a works party, wedding, wake or christening just ask we'd be happy to help

Christmas

We are so looking forward to the festive season and want to make sure it’s a special one for you and your loved ones.

Throughout December our Daily Menu will be full of seasonal fayre alongside (what we hope are) all your classic favourites. We also have our Christmas set menu which is available as two courses or three courses.

Really could not fault our visit. Family of four. Starters and mains. The children loved their food. We have never been before even though lived in Orwell and other villages near by. Will certainly be back again very soon. Was too hungry to take photos before we started so unfortunately I only have pictures of what was left. The food here is second to none and the service is also excellent. I went on one of the first days of decent weather this year which meant the fire wasn't going, but it there was the unmistakable smell of burnt wood which I found lovely!

It's out of the way, but that's what makes it such a great pub, but friendly locals who are more than happy to engage in conversation and make you feel welcome
